September 9th, 2024.** Digitalk is excited to announce the integration of XConnect’s Global Number Range service into Carrier Cloud, bringing real-time numbering intelligence directly into the heart of the class-leading platform as a service for wholesale voice. In many countries, surcharging is applied if calls are sent for termination with invalid calling numbers. To reduce the possibility of such costs, wholesale carriers need to be able to validate calls before routing them. Without access to low latency, reliable sources of data this task is impossible to perform at the point of call setup, increasing the probability of surcharges and billing disputes at a later point. XConnect’s Global Number Range solution provides numbering intelligence by uniquely identifying the status of any number range, determining the operator assigned to a given number block, and whether it is in use – or not. The platform combines multiple layers of data into a single, global view of number allocations – which is essential for determining whether a given number is valid. Carrier Cloud has deep integration with the Global Number Range solution, enabling operators to enable real-time verification of origins with a single option – unlike other solutions which demand unwieldy configuration via complex routing rules. In addition, the verification status along with other key insights are accessible natively from Carrier Cloud’s Business Intelligence suite, enabling operators to instantly monitor and obtain alerts on the quality of A-numbers provided by their peers. As a result, wholesale voice carriers can easily route cleared calls, reject invalid traffic – and automatically flag incomplete or invalid numbers in the rating records. This means they can also implement new rating and routing policies – charging more for invalid records, for example.
