DIGITALK and Interoute combine to win inaugural innovation award
DIGITALK, the global provider of multi service switching platforms, was formally recognised at the inaugural Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards on Monday 17 September. DIGITALK was named as the vendor behind Interoute's 'Interoute One' platform, which won the Business and Consumer Service Innovation award.
Interoute One is a unified communications solution which enables real-time Instant Messaging (IM), video calling and presence across corporate networks running Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 or Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. The platform is powered by the DIGITALK Media Application Server (MAS) which allows users to quickly and connect to the Interoute network, which is one of the most advanced next-generation voice and data networks in Europe.
DIGITALK co-founder and Managing Director Justin Norris said, 'We would like to congratulate Interoute on winning this prestigious award. Interoute One is at the forefront in rolling out Unified Communications in Europe and DIGITALK is delighted to have been instrumental in making it happen.'
Interoute began using the DIGITALK Application Service for its Interoute One service in June 2007. Interoute has also integrated the DIGITALK MAS into its VVN (Virtual Voice Network) managed softswitch partitioning and interconnection service, which offers wholesale voice capacity to other carriers, and VVN Arena, which provides a brokering service for wholesale voice minutes.
