Brazil's Globecall launches VoIP services using DIGITALK

Globecall plans to launch a series of prepaid VoIP offerings using the DIGITALK Consumer Platform beginning July 2007 following extensive testing of the platform. The DIGITALK platform will allow Globecall to launch a range of new VoIP services which will be incorporated into its existing corporate communications portfolio.

Services to be launched into the Brazilian market include prepaid Internet Telephony services, which will benefit from DIGITALK's web-based Subscriber Self-Care, and a range of services for Globecall's reseller network. Globecall will also be using the DIGITALK platform to support full number portability capabilities, which will further strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding Brazilian market.

"These new services will allow us to signific antly expand our offering in both the corporate and consumer sectors." said Marcelo Merenda, CEO, Globecall. "We chose DIGITALK after an extensive process of research and evaluation and found it to be the most complete solution for a VoIP service provider".

Globecall also chose the DIGITALK solution because of the sophistication of the real-time rating engine and the integrated e-commerce facilities such as online recharging. In addition, the DIGITALK platform also offers Globecall the ability to bring new services to market quickly and, by using the DIGITALK Service Creation Environment, the ability to tailor those services to meet the needs of their corporate customers as their requirements change.
