Tiscali Netherlands to launch broadband telephony services using DIGITALK

Tiscali Netherlands, one of the largest internet service providers in Holland, is to implement the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform (MSP) in order to launch a range of new broadband telephony services. DIGITALK is a global provider of multi service switching platforms.

Tiscali will use the platform to implement enhanced VoIP services for around 120,000 customers across the Netherlands in 2007. It plans to extend the service to around 300,000 customers over the next three years as part of a phased rollout.

“We needed a broadband telephony delivery platform that was market-proven in rolling-out major new services quickly and easily. With DIGITALK Tiscali can launch the new services that are available on the platform, like the “virtual office” solution for small businesses. Also the flexibility and intelligence in the system means we can offer a range of tailored services to different market segments, including business, residential and wholesale.” said Bart Oskam, Chief Technology Officer, Tiscali Netherlands. “DIGITALK’s vast experience in handling large-scale migrations for the likes of BT Group was key to our decision.”, he added.

The MSP will be integrated into Tiscali’s existing softswitch platform in the Netherlands in order to provide network intelligence for the new service launches.

“Tiscali Netherlands’ choice for the DIGITALK broadband telephony services is further proof that DIGITALK is becoming the platform of choice for major operators wanting to launch innovative new services quickly and easily. As the company enters an exciting new phase in its history following its acquisition by KPN, we look forward to helping Tiscali launch further exciting new services soon”, said Mark Ashdown, Sales and Marketing Director, DIGITALK.
